The Truffle

Also known as Périgord truffle or French black truffle, the fresh black truffle (Tuber melanosporum Vittad.) is a winter delicacy harvested from 15 November to 15 March.

It is prized for its intense aromatic profile, combining earthy depth with a refined, slightly fruity character. The flavour is powerful yet balanced, which has earned it the name “sweet black truffle” among connoisseurs.

Origin & Terroir
Country of origin: Italy

Our black truffles are sourced from carefully selected truffle areas in Basilicata and Calabria, where favourable winter conditions, natural limestone presence, and seasonal temperature variation support the development of Tuber melanosporum at full aromatic maturity.

Every truffle is selected to meet strict standards for freshness, aroma intensity, and culinary performance.

Fresh truffles arrive weekly at our Helsinki shop & restaurant.
